Port Blair, Mar 01: The General Body Meeting of Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank was held on 01.03.2020 at its Conference Hall. Mr. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, ANSCB chaired the meeting. The Programme was also attended by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, ANSCB, Board of Directors, Members of PACS (Primary Agriculture Credit Societies), various affiliated Societies and Bank officials.
At the outset, Mr. K Murugan, Managing Director of Bank, welcomed the delegates wholeheartedly and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries present on the dais. He also expressed gratitude to the representatives of various cooperative societies for attending the meet.
Further, he read out the proceedings of last General Body meeting and same was confirmed by the house, he later placed the next agenda for the election of Management Committee of the bank.
Later Mr. Abdul Rasheed, Returning Officer has conducted the election for one seat in Plantation Category between Mr. Om Prakash, Namunaghar Land Syndicate Cooperative Society Ltd, and Mr. Shyamal Kumar Halder, Beachdera Cooperative Coconut Farming Society Ltd, Beachdera, South Andaman. Shri Om Prakash got 05 Votes, whereas Mr. Shyamal Kumar Halder got 50 Votes. Altogether a total 65 nos. of delegates has participated in the General Body. Further a total 55 Nos. of member societies were cast their votes for the lone contesting seat in Non-Agriculture Credit Society (Plantation Category), a total 9 Members were unanimously elected with unopposed.

Soon after the election, a Board Meeting was also conducted and constituted a Managing Committee in which Shri. Bhagat Singh unanimously elected as Chairman and Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma unanimously elected as Vice- Chairman of the A & N State Cooperative Bank Limited.
