Baratang, Feb 26: The Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar has inaugurated several projects in Baratang Island on 24th February 2020 which brought hopes for the residents of the region.
The project inaugurated involves a 1.5 km rural road that begins from ATR to Udaigad Village. The demand for the road was kept years ago, which has been fulfilled now bringing a big relief for the residents of the area.
Similarly, on the same day the DC North and Middle, Mr. Awanish inaugurated an overhead water tank of 1.17 lacks liters Capacity to benefit around 150 families of Jarwa creek, Baludera.
Thereafter, the DC gave a green signal to an Anganwadi center at Jarwa creek for starting their operations from the newly constructed center.
Later, the DC also revealed the foundation stone of Check Dam at Wrafter creek whose estimated cost is around rupees 4 crore. After the construction of the check dam water crisis issue of Wrafter creek, Rajatgarh and Khatta Khari will come to an end.
Mr. Alagar Swamy, the Up-Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. Alom Doley, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, Mr. Rajkumar, Executive Engineer, Rangat, Mr. Roy George, Pradhan, Nilambur Panchayat, T. Satish, Up-Pradhan, Nilambur Panchayat, Ms. Bernadate Soreng, Ex Adhyaksha, North and Middle Andaman were among the other dignitaries who participated in the inauguration ceremonies along with a large number of people from the region.
