Port Blair, Feb 26: The Director (IP&T), Andaman and Nicobar Administration intends to engage Life Guard to place in the Panel list (not permanent) on Daily Wage basis under Skilled Category @ Rs.603/- per working day for performing duty at various beaches of these Islands in place of regular Lifeguard who proceed on leave/absent . The pay of Lifeguard on leave/absent will be debited and paid to Lifeguard who engaged from Panel List.
The male/female candidates shall register their Surf Life Saving Technique (SLST) Certificate (preferably local resident) alongwith a copy of educational qualification to the concerned Officer as per details below.

The registration will be open from 27.02.2020 to 28.02.2020 from 10 am to 5 pm.
The age of the male candidates should be 18-30 years. Age relaxation to the candidates will be considered as per prevailing Rule
The Educational Qualification of the candidates should be minimum Xth Std. pass from a recognized Board/Institution and should know swimming, Course Certificate of Surf Life Saving Technique.
The duties and responsibilities of Lifeguard are to undertaken Beach Patrol regularly, check & maintain all signs and lifesaving equipment on beach daily, maintain continuous surveillance of people swimming and ensure that they are within safe swimming zones, provide safety information to people prior to them indulging in beach activities, ensure that a water sports is done within the parameters of set rules and regulation, supervises and assist in rescue operations, perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents, perform first aid and CPR according to the demands of adverse situations, check safety of rescue tubes, lifejackets, buoys and perform needed maintenance, keep the assigned area clear of all hazards and remove the same as required eg. broken glass etc, keep area around lifeguard station clean and maintaining cleanliness of beaches.
The terms and conditions is that the candidates must have SLST Certificate, the engagement is purely on Daily Wages Basis, the selected candidates will be deployed to the selected benches on random basis and no request for transfer or shifting will be considered after deployment and there is no provision for re-engagement after expiry of engagement period and no claim for regular appointment. The candidates those who are willing to abide by the charter of duties notified for Life Guards by the Department shall only apply.
