Port Blair, Feb 26: In order to eradicate the menace of illegal trade of wild life products, south Andaman polce one again proved their efficiency in curbing down and bringing the culprits in front of law.
On 25/02/2020 at about 0430 hrs, credible information was received at PS Humfrigunj that one unknown person was transporting venison from Manglutan area. subsequently, Inspr. Aditya Narayan, SHO PS Humfrigunj, SI Abdul Azad along with the police party rushed to Manglutan Junction and spotted one vehicle bearing Reg. No. AN01 M 1577 (Scooty) near forest check post at Manglutan junction and during checking of vehicle, 35 Kgs of suspicious venison was found from the possession of person namely P. Selvam S/o Late Parumal (42) Yrs, Pvt. Worker R/o Deen Street Junglighat. After observing all codal formalities the seized venison, vehicle & the detained person were handed over to the concerned official of A&N Forest Department for further legal action.
The entire operation took place under SDPO Bambooflat, Mr. Ajay KUMAR Rai, DANIPS and under the overall direction and supervision of MR. manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
