Port Blair, Feb 25To fight against the menace of illicit liquor & other illegal activities, a special operation was carried out by the staff of PS Bambooflat on 23/02/2020. In this operation, a team headed by SI K.Llangovan, SHO PS Bambooflat comprising PCs Ashok Roy, Debasish Roy Suresh Kumar of PS Bambooflat and S.P Pradeep and HG®/339 Tapan Gharai of OP Wimberlygunj conducted jungle search at Alipur Jungle, Bamboo Ballah and found that one person namely Gouranga Halder, S/o Late Mahananda Halder, (43) Yrs, R/o Mathura was indulge in fermentation of illicit liquor . Upon which, the raiding team raided and recovered 35 liters of illicit liquor, arrested the person and destroyed the illicit Bhatti article on the spot.
The entire operation was conducted under Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
