Port Blair, Feb 19: A man namely Tarak Majumdar, 54 years, residing in the Tsunami Shelter situated at Nayasaher, South Andaman, Port Blair has reportedly stabbed his neighbor 03 times in his stomach with a knife after the neighbor tied a rope with a tree in the premises of the accused, to dry his clothes under the sun.
As per reports, this morning at around 10:00am, the deceased Mr Guru Pada Manna, 56 years tied a rope with a mango tree that was in the premises of the accused, Tarak Majumdar. The step of the neighbor of tying a rope into Tarak Majumdar’s premises resulted in an argument between the two.
According to sources, while the argument was on, Tarak Majumdar went inside his house and brought a knife and in no time he stabbed his neighbor 03 times in his stomach, shocking everyone present at the spot. It is learnt that Mr Guru Pada died on the spot.
The residents of the area immediately informed the matter to the nearby Police Station following which a team of Manglutan Police Station reached the spot and arrested the accused. A case under relevant section has been registered against the accused, it is learnt.
