Diglipur, Feb 18: Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, who was on a two-day tour to Diglipur visited the Northernmost Police Look-Out Post (LOP) of A&N Islands yesterday. He sailed from Aerial Bay Jetty to East Island through Coast Guard Ship and was accompanied by DC (N&MA), SP (N&M), AC (Diglipur) & EE, APWD. The Lt. Governor inspected various infrastructural facilities at the LOP. Later, the Lt. Governor also visited Burma Nallah and interacted with the staff deployed there. He appreciated their enthusiasm and commitment towards the security of the Islands. The visit of Lt. Governor has strengthened the presence of the Administration in such a sensitive and remote area prone to illegal migration from the neighbouring countries. The staff deployed were elated and have expressed their gratitude to the Lt. Governor for paying a visit to them.
Today, the Lt. Governor held interaction with the PRI members and representatives of various departments in the Conference Hall of APWD Guest House, Diglipur. The DC N&MA, Shri Awanish Kumar welcomed the Lt. Governor and presented a brief on the action report on the points raised in the previous meeting held on 08/07/2019. The PRI Members raised the emergent issues for the kind appraisal of the Lt. Governor which included allotment of quarry, BSNL network issue, shortage of LPG cylinders, condition of National Highway, left out cases of Ayushman Bharat and PMAY etc.
The Lt. Governor in his address deliberated upon the concerns raised by the members and appraised them about the new initiatives taken up by the A&N Administration in the field of health, network connectivity, tourism projects, etc and assured to get the issues examined by the concerned departments in a time bound manner. The Adhyaksh, N&MA, Shri Dipankar Mistry on behalf of the PRI members and general public of Diglipur expressed his gratitude to the Lt. Governor for his visit to the Island. On completion of the visit, the Lt. Governor returned to Port Blair in the afternoon.
