Port Blair, Feb 13: The Center IPM Center, Port Blair under the Govt. Of India M/o Agriculture and Farmer Welfare conducted an Awareness programme on Vegetable pest & Diseases with special reference to IPM in collaboration with Deptt. Of Agriculture, Diglipur on 12/13.02.20 at Khalighat and Madhya gram Villages.
The Participating Farmers were exposed to Field Walk in Vegetable fields and imparted training on Pests and role of Defenders, Symptoms and its Management by Question & Answer method using Evaluation Ballot-Boxes. The Interactive-cum group discussion was attended by Shri Dilip Kumar, Assistant Director of Agriculture Diglipur, Shri G.S.Giri Plant Protection Officer (Plant Pathology), Shri V.K.Gupta, Assistant Plant Protection Officer(PP), & Shri. Tanmai Pual, Farm Manager, KVK(ICAR), Nimbudera, N & M Andaman.
The Participants were distributed Multicolor Posters on “Predators and Defenders in Vegetable Crop” Eco-system and “Safe Application of pesticides” in Bengali language, The Programme concluded with Group Dynamics(GD) with focus on IPM.
