Mayabunder, Feb 11: Long pending demands of the residents of North and Middle Andaman region has been fulfilled today after speed boat MV Rani Changa was commissioned for the North & Middle Andaman District.
Without doubt, tremendous effort from the side of the District administration and continuous perusal by the District Commissioner, North and Middle, Mr Awanish Kumar yielded good results.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha today, the DC, North and Middle, Mr Awanish said that speed boats are the necessity here for sea communications in North and Middle Andaman area as per requirements of local residents.
Therefore, the District administration on request of the residents of the district kept the demand of a speed boat in front of the Chief Secretary, Andaman Nicobar Islands and Secretary Shipping, long back and the dream of having a speed boat, exclusively for North and Middle Andaman, is materialized today.
“MV Rani Changa will be commissioned for the Mayabunder District today, we also made the schedule of the vessel and soon after publishing the schedule, within a day or two; the speed boat will start serving the residents,” District Commissioner, Awanish Kumar added.
