According to Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, PBMC has started 100% source segregation across the wards including households, commercial establishment and various market places as source segregation plays a pivotal role to keep any city clean and green.
Junglighat Sunday market is one of the key concern areas wherein vehicles and pedestrians movement severely restricted on Sunday due to encroachment of vendors in public and footpaths and also making constraints to the women, residents and last ritual processions on the way to burial ground .
As a measure, PBMC streamlined the entire area by earmarking vending slots and regulated with the police assistance on 9-02-2020 (Sunday) wherein the violators were imposed penalty for a tune of Rupees Twenty Three Thousand and market fee of Rupees Eighty Thousand also collected as revenue.
In view of above, it is hereby request all the vendors to bring relevant identity proof for smooth vending and abide norms of Solid Waste Management Rules. If any violation noticed at the vending area, penalty will be imposed as per SWM Bye Laws and their names will be debarred from the list of vendors and PBMC will also publish the details of the violators under the column “naming & shaming” in the print media..
