Port Blair, Dec 26: On time intervention of Emergency Team of MV Campbell Bay saved a CISF constable from drowning in sea recently during late night hours at Haddo Wharf Number 02.
As per reports, on 22nd December, 2019, a duty Constable of CISF, Mr Turvinder Singh fell down in seawater accidentally while he was on patrolling at Haddo Wharf Number 02, following which the other staffs of CISF sought for the help from the crew members of MV Campbell Bay which was berthed in the Haddo Wharf.
It is learnt that on information the 02nd officer of the ship Mr Arafat Hussain Mulla, Mr K Kabir Amzad, SRM and Mr Velmurugan, Seamen responded on call and reached the spot with rescue gears and saved the CISF constable from drowning. The CISF constable was later handed over to the Deputy Commandant, CISF, Port Blair. The rescue operation was carried out under the command of Captain Abdul Salam of MV Campbell Bay.
