Port Blair, Oct 15: All is not well at ITF ground campus where presently Smart Islander Cards are being issued to public. General public are alleging huge harassment by the issuing staffs. According to them deployed staffs in the ITF ground to create and issue Smart Islander Card for islanders do not look sufficient enough.
According to the islanders, they are not receiving proper information on which queue they have to stand to make the Smart Islander Card and from where to receive the card.
“It’s very unfair that the administration has deployed only a,few staffs to cater thousands of islanders, the staffs deployed either don’t talk to us or behaves very rudely to everyone,” said complained an Islander.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a lady said that since last 10 days she is roaming around the ITF ground to get her Smart Islander Card but till date she has not even understood the process. “If I go to a counter they ask me to stand on the other queue and when my turn comes I was told that I am standing in the wrong counter,” she added.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, another islanders said that he was given the date of 28th September to come and collect the Smart Islander Card. He said that when his turn came he was told by the staff that the staffs is having 9000-10000 cards and thus he will have to search which is not possible now.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a senior citizen said that this is the 04th time he is coming to get his Smart Islander Card but he is still in dilemma and has not received the card yet. He further said that atleast the administration should have taken care of the sitting arrangements for senior citizens and providing drinking water facility for public.
