Port Blair, Oct 14: In a yet shocking incident, an India Post parcel that was delivered to a man recently by the Postman of India Post was found open from one side (15 centimeters torn). Not only this, according to the addressee, Mr. Vijay Kumar, items worth Rs 10-12 thousand were missing from the parcel.
Mr Vijay Kumar told Andaman Sheekha that the parcel that was sent to him by his sister on 03rd October from Mumbai contained 02 sets of parcel in a single box in which one set is completely missing worth Rs 10-12 thousand.
“There were cloth inside both the sets, the one that I ordered for me had only 02 clothes, which I received and the other set that had cloth worth Rs 10-12 thousand, which was for selling purpose, was found to be missing and someone had put wastes covers and cloths inside,” alleged Mr. Vijay.
Accusing India Post authorities for this blunder, Mr. Vijay Kumar demanded India Post to track and find his remaining belongings and demanded compensation for such mismanagement.
This is not the first time when such incidents have been reported with India Post. Earlier some prominent businessmen in city had also alleged that their materials inside packages brought by India Post were missing.
Mr. Vijay Kumar alleged that when he approached the Post Master in this matter, he refused to offer kind of help.
“Someone has put some Mumbai based magazines inside my package. Hence it seems that the materials were removed from Mumbai India Post unit. In any case India Post must take responsibility for such losses,” he alleged.
