North & Middle Andaman, Nov 23: The Chief Secretary of A& N Islands, Mr. Chetan B Sanghi along with Secretary Mr. Ajay Kr Gupta, Secretary RD/APWD Mr. Krishna Kumar went to N & M Andaman on a two days visit.
The Deputy Commissioner, N&M Awanish Kumar, ZP Adhyaksh Mr. P Srinivas Rao Pramukh, Diglipur, Asst Engr N & M, Mr. Siva Subramanian, NHIDCL officer Manoj Kr Varma accompanied them on this visit.
The officials reached Rangat in the morning and attended PRI meeting at APWD conference hall, where several development issues of Rangat region were discussed like construction of roads, Indore Stadium at Rangat, tourist spot of Moricedera Beach, Poor BSNL network. He also visited CHC Rangat and assured for the development of medical facilities.
After that they went to Mayabunder by road and conducted PRI meeting at APWD Guest house. After that the team reached Diglipur by Coast Guard ship.
In the evening from 7-9 PM the team conducted PRI meeting at APWD Guest house conference hall at Diglipur and discussed on various issues related to Diglipur.
Many demands and suggestions were raised during the meeting as for the demand of door delivery of LPG CS said that practically it is not possible in these Islands, other demands were furniture procurement for schools can be made from local market instead of centralization, free transportation of patients along with one attendant through Helicopter can be considered etc.
The CS reportedly asked the authorities to make a report on viability of Municipal Council at Diglipur and said Engineering cadre will be amalgamated in the future.
Earlier ZP Adhyaksh N&M welcomed the officials and at the end DC N&M proposed thanks.
2nd day they visited Diglipur, CS and other two secretaries along with Deputy Commissioner N & M went to Ross & Smith Island in the morning and discussed various issues related to development activities of the Sagar Dweep. After returning they went to inspect Shibpur Airport. In the afternoon the team went to Port Blair by helicopter.
