Port Blair, Nov 21: It has been learnt that a team of U.S. Consulate Chennai reached Andaman following the incident of killing of an American National at North Sentinel Island.
Earlier a mail was received by Andaman Sheekha from U.S. Consulate General Office in Chennai this morning which says “We are aware of reports concerning a U.S. citizen in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The welfare and safety of U.S. citizens abroad is one of the highest priorities of the Department of State. When a U.S. citizen is missing, we work closely with local authorities as they carry out their search efforts. Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment.”
