Billyground, Jan 18: The self of imposed exile of the lone Member of Parliament of A & N Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, from the Bharatiya Janta Party has finally come to an end as the MP has started addressing public meetings under the banner of BJP after a gap of nearly two years.
Mr. Ray is presently visiting North and Middle Andaman and addressing series of public meetings under the flag of BJP, much to the discomfort of rival parties.
In 2010, Mr. Ray had detached himself from BJP following an internal dispute over election of A & N State BJP President.
There were allegations that behind the formation of Trinamool Congress in A & N Islands on August 08, 2010, Mr. Ray had played a leading role. Mrs. Rupa Ray, wife of Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray was the working president of Trinamool Congress in A & N Islands.
Since 11, January 2012 the Ray has addressed nearly six public meeting on Buffer Zone and Andaman Trunk Road closure issue in remote villages of North and Middle Andaman like Baratant, Bakultala, Billyground, Rangat.
On 11/01/2012, a public meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Biju Gurudasan, Pradhan in the Baratang Community Hall. Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray , addressed the crowd in this regard.
Another Public Meeting was held on 16/01/2012 under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sampat Kumar Roy, Pradhan. Mr. B.P Ray also addressed the crowd assembled there. The crowd assembled there resolved that if the imposing of Buffer Zone is not lifted/removed there shall be forty eight hours Road Roko Andolan at Kadamtala main road.
In the Bakultala Panchayat Hall on 17/01/2012 a public meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Khuruma Rao, Zilla Parishad Member. Mr. B.P Ray also participated in the meeting and addressed to the audience.

“It is the Buffer Zone and Andaman Trunk Road Closure issue, which has brought BJP and the MP closure again as everybody knows that these two issues are enough to keep Congress away from power in A & N Islands for next 10 years,” a senior BJP leader told ‘Express’ today who do not want his name to be quoted. However the MP was unavailable to comment anything on this issue.
