Port Blair, May 02: The Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology alongwith his team camped at Havelock recently to carry-out verification & stamping of weighing & measuring instruments used by the Government & semi Government establishments and the traders of the said area. The team camped at Havelock No.3 and verified all the weighing & measuring instruments produced before the Assistant Controller (LM) and issued necessary certificate to all concerned. An amount of ` 60940/- (Rupees Sixty thousand nine hundred forty only) was collected as stamping fees.
It is appealed to all the consumer that in case if they find any shopkeeper using unstamped or faulty weighing instruments, over-charging of packaged commodities beyond MRP, less weighment, any unfair trade practice etc., the same may be brought to notice in writing to the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Port Blair.
