Port Blair, Nov 29: A theft of gold ornaments worth Rs. 40,000/- was reported at PS Ograbraj on 23.11.2016 and the case has been worked out within 24 hours by the efforts of the police team of PS Ograbraj arrested two accused persons and recovered all the stolen gold ornaments on 24.11.16.
On receipt of report at PS Ogrbraj from Shri Abdul Mazeed R/o Pahari Nallah, Ogrbraj about theft of 06 Gold rings worth Rs. 40,000/- (approx) from his house by some unknown person, a case vide Cr. No. 94/16 dated 23/11/2016 U/s 380 IPC was registered at PS Ograbraj. A team comprising of Investigating Officer SI Mithun Kirtania along with HC/Abdul Basheer, PC/Anupam Dutta & PC/2754 Arupta Das led by Insp. Rizwan Hassan, SHO PS Ograbraj and under the supervision of Shri MA Nuashad, SDPO Bambooflat, swung into action that succeeded to arrest accused Abdul Razak (24yrs) R/o Muslim Basthi, Obrabraj on 24.11.2016. Later his associate namely Dharmender (38 yrs) R/o Round Basti, Port Blair was also arrested from Aberdeen Bazaar on the same day. The entire stolen ornaments have been recovered by the Police team. Both the accused persons were produced before the Hon’ble Court of CJM, Port Blair from where they have been remanded to judicial custody.
