Port Blair, May 28: ‘Sun Time – Fun Time’ – An Arts and Craft Workshop was organised for children of Army personnel from 14 – 19 May 12, under the aegis of 108 Mountain Brigade at Birchgunj Military Station, Port Blair. The workshop was conducted to keep the children engaged during their summer vacation and to provide them a platform to learn and unearth their hidden talents in a vibrant environment. The event was marked by loads of fun and frolic for the children belonging to all age groups. The aim was to develop creative skills among the children, thereby enhancing their overall personality and consequent exposure to the modern day world.
65 children participated in the workshop organised at Siddhima Vocational Training Centre, Birchgunj. The children were taught to make greeting cards, posters, pen stands, photo frames, T-shirt painting, gift wrapping, wind chimes etc by the ladies of HQ 108 Mountain Brigade under the guidance of Mrs Shalini Thakur.
The closing ceremony was held at Koshish Auditorium, Birchgunj Military Station on 19 May 12. Mrs Pooja Marwah, President DWWA, graced the occasion by giving away prizes to children whose inventiveness was deemed as the best.
