Port Blair, May 10: In reply to the Starred Question No.202 raised by the Member of Parliament A & N Islands, in the Lok Sabha in regard to establishment of Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman District, Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani, the Minister of Human Resource Development has informed the Parliament that “Navodaya Vidyalaya Sangathan have not received any specific proposals recently from the UT Administration of A & N Islands for establishment of new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman District though a request was received by this Ministry in September 2015 for sanction of two additional JNVs in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.”
Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament through this press note further requested the A & N Administration to send detailed proposal to the Ministry for setting up of Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman District.
