Port Blair, Dec 02: The Navy Week Celebration at Campbell Bay started with a coastal cleanup as the first event on 30 Nov 14. The invitation for the event was extended to all the units based at Campbell Bay. All the sailors of INS Baaz along with DSC personnel including representation from 3U Det assembled at APWD Public Beach at 0630hrs to carry out the cleanup. The event resulted in removal of plastic and glass bottles, aluminium cans, thermocol, broken plastic pieces and nylon ropes and led to a clean and beautiful beach.
Beach clean ups are a fun and simple way to volunteer our time by helping to keep our surroundings and seas clean, there by safeguarding the marine environment.
