Mayabunder, Aug 28: It is reported that to implement the announcement made by the Prime Minister of India in the Independence Day Speech in its letter and spirit, a Mega Camp was organized by Mr. P.K.Ummer Farooq, Branch Manager State Bank of India at Information Centre, Mayabunder at 4 pm.
On the occasion, Smti Menaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner North & Middle Andaman was the Guest of honour. Shri R.N.Ruth, Principal, M.G.G.C., Mayabunder, Shri Sony Thomas, Up- Adhyaksh, Smti Arati Mondal, Pramukh and PRI members, officials of various departments and organizations, College Students and a large general number of public were present in the Camp. About 278 persons opened account and during the programme 23 Pass Books were distributed by the DC. Shri P.K.Ummer Farooq, Branch Manager, State Bank of India welcomed the gatherings & highlighted the importance of the Scheme.
