Port Blair, Aug 01: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has submitted a Memorandum to the Seventh Central Pay Commission in New Delhi which contains some of the common issues of government employees working in these islands and demands of the employees working in various departments under the A & N Administration. The common demands included in the Memorandum are (1) Restoration of Andaman Special Allowance and Compensatory Allowance as it existed prior to the implementation of 4th Central Pay Commission, (2) Grant of House Rent Allowance at the rate of Y class city throughout the islands (3) Hard Area Allowance for the entire union territory of A & N Islands (4) grant of Risk Allowance for the employees serving in A & N Islands (5) revision of rates of overtime allowance (6) Medical Reimbursement facilities to retired government employees (7) 12 days of Casual Leave for all the employees (8) Revision of rates of Night Duty Allowance, etc.
In the department-specific demands, the Memorandum contains the demands (1) upgraded pay for Lower Grade Clerks and Higher Grade Clerks (2) upgraded pay for various categories of Statistical Cadre (3) upgraded pay for various posts of Stenographers’ Cadre (4) revision of pay of IT Cadre Staff (5) upgraded pay for the left-out categories of teachers and miscellaneous teachers in the Education Department (6) restoration of Earned Leave to teachers (7) restoration of Teaching Allowance to Teachers (8) enhanced Medical Allowance to Teachers (9) revision of pay for various categories of employees of Rural Development Department, Fisheries Department, Shipping Department, Health Department, Social Welfare Department, Survey & Settlement, APWD, Agriculture Department, etc. The memorandum has been sent to the Secretary, Seventh Central Pay Commission, New Delhi by Shri D. Ayyappan, General Secretary of the Association. The last date for receipt of Memorandum by the Seventh Central Pay Commission in New Delhi is 31st July, 2014.
