Port Blair, July 14 : The Sports Authority of India has started National Cycling Academy (SAINCA) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi by providing all facilities equipments including cycles, gear etc., boarding, lodging, medical, course study materials for education and examination. In this connection, applications have been invited from Andaman & Nicobar Cycling Association to select and to send the best cyclists to New Delhi for the final selection trial at IG Stadium, New Delhi.
In this regard, Andaman Nicobar Cycling Association in coordination with Sports Authority of India and Department of Sports & Youth Affairs will conduct state level selection trial/physical fitness test at Rajiv Gandhi Velodrome, Netaji Stadium Complex, Port Blair at 6 am on July 20, 2014. Athletes/cyclists/freshers of 14 to 16 years age group as on June 30, 2014 are eligible to attend the selection trial. The selection cyclists will be sent to attend the final selection trial at Indira Gandhi Indoor Velodrome, New Delhi.
The selected isles athletes/cyclists/freshers shall be getting an opportunity to train with the best of coaches and at the Asia’s the best facility, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Cycling Velodrome, New Delhi, based on the concept of enabling motivated young boys and girls in the best cycling environment and for producing international cyclists to represent India at the world stage.
All the interested athletes/cyclists/freshers have been requested to report at Rajiv Gandhi Velodrome, Netaji Stadium Complex, Port Blair at 6 am on July 20 for physical fitness test and cycling selection trial in proper kit along with copy of birth certificate/proof of date of birth, two passport size photographs of the candidate and no objection certificate of parents/guardians.
