Port Blair, July 14: Five persons have been arrested from a gambling den at Prothrapur on Sunday (13th July) and Rs.30, 500/- gambling money has been seized from them.
Upon receiving credible information, the District Special Team comprising of ASI M. Abdul Rasheed, HC Surya Narayan, HC Sanjay, Constables Ashish Mallick, Mohd Imran, M. Raja Rao&RakeshToppo, under the supervision of DySP(SA) Shri Mohd Aslam, raided the gambling den at Prothrapur near Sunny Diesel and arrested five persons namely Aminul Gaji (32) yrs, r/o Pathargudda, Dhruv Kr. Das (29)yrs, r/o Bathubasti, Tapas Pandey, (32)yrs, r/o Bathubasti, V. Shankar Kumar, (25 yrs), r/o Diglipur now at Prothrapur and Laltu Behra, (25) yrs, r/o Prothrapur from the den Rs. 25000/- board money alongwith 52 Nos. playing cards were seized from the spot and Rs. 5,500/-seized form their personal search. The gamblers have been booked under the A&N Gambling Regulation.
