Port Blair, June 26: The National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India has invited nominations for “SPANDAN” Annual Awards for 2013-14. The National Trust is the Statuary body for the welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
There are different categories for the Annual Awards ranging from individual to institutional. People with disabilities under the National Trust Act will be eligible for the SPANDAN Awards besides all individuals/organizations who work for the welfare of persons with disabilities shall be eligible, but in case of organizations registered with the National Trust, such registration should have been on or before the last date of the preceding financial year. There shall be no age bar in individual category; however nomination of adults will be given more weightage for these awards.
Applications completed in all respects should be submitted to the Directorate of Social Welfare during working hours by 2nd July.
