Port Blair, Mar 27: Applications are invited for Post-Matric Scholarship for the year 2012-13 from the students belonging to minority communities notified by the Central Government, who are pursuing studies from class XI to Ph.D (XI, XII, Technical/Vocational, Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil & Ph.D) studying in Government/recognized private Schools/Colleges/Institutes including technical/vocational course in ITI/ITC.
The financial assistance will be given to eligible students who have secured not less than 50% marks in previous final examination and annual income of his/her parents/guardians from all sources not exceeding Rs.2 lakhs. A scholarship holder under this scheme shall not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the studies and will not be given to more than two students in a family. Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on the successful completion of the courses during the preceding year. 30% of scholarships are reserved for female candidates, if enough women candidates are not available, male candidates would be selected.
Application for Fresh and for Renewal (who were granted Post-matric scholarship for previous year) in the prescribed format along with requisite documents should be submitted to the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, Goalghar, Port Blair along with requisite declaration/documents latest by 31.08.2012 through the Head of the School/College/ Institute of the student. The details of the scheme and application form may be downloaded from the website www: minorityaffairs.gov.in and also available in respective Schools/Colleges/Institutes. It is informed by the Ministry that Online Scholarship Management System (OSMS) is being introduced from the year 2012-13 and this site is accessible through URL www.momascholarship.gov.in this link is also hyper linked with Ministry website www. minorityaffairs.gov.in. The FAQs, for filling up of online application, available on the homepage of the website of the Ministry of Minority. Applicants are advised to take printouts of the duly filled-in application forms, through OSMS, and to submit the same along with all supporting documents through their respective Schools/Colleges/Institutes to Directorate of Social Welfare, Goalghar, Port Blair.
i. One copy of passport size photograph with signature pasted on
application form
ii. Attested copy of certificates of educational qualifications
iii. Income declaration-affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper worth
Rs.10/- for self-employed parents/guardian or Income Certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardian.
iv. Minority community declaration- affidavit on non-judicial stamp
paper worth Rs.10/- by the student that he/she belongs to anyone of the minority communities notified by Central Government.
(Certificate not required to be enclosed for renewal application).
v. Proof of permanent residence (Certificate not required to be enclosed for renewal application if address has not changed).
vi. Receipt in acknowledgement of scholarship in the previous year duly countersigned by the Head of the school/institute. (for renewal case)
Non-submission of above said declaration/certificate, unsigned, incomplete application will result in summary rejection without assigning any reason whatsoever.
