Port Blair, May 04: The Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has condoled the death of the legendary footballer of our Islands Mr. Thomas Khushbu , PET of Education Department , Resident of Car Nicobar , who expired after prolong treatment yesterday at Car Nicobar .
Meanwhile, the PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma and all leaders have deeply mourned the untimely death of Shri Thomas Khusboo, an International football player who was born in Kinnai Village , Car Nicobar on 19.12.68 and left for heavenly abode yesterday at 4.40 AM at Bishop John Richardson Hospital (BJRH),Car Nicobar.
In the year 1984, Khusboo lead the upcoming football players of GSSS Lapathy as captain of under 17 football team and won final match against Mizoram held at Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi and brought Subroto Mukherjee Club to these islands. In the year 1985, he has lead the Junior India football team of under 19, as a captain and played against Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Later he Joined Dempo sporting club in Goa in 1985 as a player and played till 1989. Thereafter, he joined MRF Goa club in 89 as a player of repute and then joined Mohan bagan Team. He has also acted as a NIS football coach in Slatlake Kolkata. Khushboo, has then joined Education Deptt of AN Islands in the year 1998 as Phy Education teacher. Thomas Khushboo had become a diabetic and remained quite concerned after he lost his wife during Tsunami in 2004. He was hospitalised recently and his both legs had to be amputated at B J R Hospital, Car Nicobar. Kuldeep has expressed his grief and told that his death is a great loss to the football lovers of these islands and prayed the Almighty for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to his family members.
