Port Blair, Mar 21: Like previous year, this year also the State TB Control Society, A&N Islands will be celebrating World TB Day along with the rest of the country under Revised National TB Control Programme on the theme “Reach the three million”, find, treat and cure TB” by arranging various IEC activities to create awareness on prevention and control of tuberculosis among the community.
On the observance of World TB Day, a rally of school students has been arranged from the premises of Cellular Jail to Aberdeen Bus Stand and back on 24th March 2014 at 9.00 AM to create awareness on TB and New Treatment Strategy DOTS among the general public, which will be off by the Director of Health Services / Mission Director (UTHM).
Thereafter, a function will be held at 11.30 am in the auditorium of G.B. Pant Hospital. Port Blair, where the Chief Guest will handover the cash prizes to the winners of essay competition conducted on the occasion of World TB Day and the undersigned will sensitize the gathering.
