Port Blair, Mar 19: The general public and all the consumers of Electricity Department in Port Blair and South Andaman areas are aware that 5 MW DG sets at the Suryachakra Power Plant at Bambooflat have become non-operational since 12.03.2012 due to which there is shortage of Power. To offset this shortage the department is exercising Rotational Load shedding for one hour.
In this connection the general public and all the consumers of Electricity Department in Port Blair and South Andaman areas are requested to cooperate with the department in this hour of crisis and use the electricity judiciously. It is requested to avoid use of energy intensive electric gadgets such as air conditioners, microwave ovens, heaters etc. It is also advised to use CFL lamps and other energy efficient electric gadgets.
The judicious use of power will reduce the demand thus help to further reduce the duration of load shedding.
