Port Blair, Mar 18: The Government Employees Federation, A & N Islands has hailed the General Budget 2012-13 and said that, the Union Minister of Finance, Mr. Pranab Mukerjee has presented an economically balanced Budget, which shall be beneficial to all sects of people. The budget has protected the interest of Government Servants and Common man. The Federation has hailed the following features of the Budget such as the increase of Tax exemption limit of an Individual from Rs. 180000/- to 200000/-; 10% Tax on Ceiling above Rs. 200000/- to Rs. 500000/-; 20% Tax on Ceiling above Rs. 500000/- to Rs. 1000000/-; 30% Tax on Ceiling above Rs. 1000000/- ; Raising of widow pension and disability pension from Rs.200/- to Rs. 300/-; Double grant on death of a primary breadwinner of a BPL family in the age group of 18-64 years; Exemption of advance tax to Senior Citizens whose income is not from business; Proposing number of measures to deter generation and use of unaccounted money; Allocation of Rs. 20000 Cr. for Rural Infrastructure Development; Introducing Rajiv Gandhi Equity Saving Scheme and launching National Urban Health Mission.
Over all, this is a good Budget of UPA Government, which will increase the GDP ratio and control the inflation.
