Port Blair, March 14: The Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray has taken up the matter regarding imparting of quality education in employment oriented education with the Lt. Governor. In his letter to the LG the Member of Parliament emphasized that 90% of our degree holders have chosen subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, Home Science, Phy. Education, Fine Arts etc. and now are left unemployed despite the per capita expenditure of Rs. 42,000/-. This is mainly due to our wrong educational policies being implemented in the islands, he said.
The MP demanded that as for a first instance, the CBSE courses such as Science, Commerce, Computer, Auto Engineering, Tourism Management and Manpower Planning, Fundamental Nursing in Govt. SSS (Telugu Medium) Haddo and Govt. SSS Bakultala in class XI & XII be included from the next academic year. He further suggested that job oriented/ vocational courses like Auto Engineering, Tourism Management and Manpower Planning, Fundamental of Nursing etc. also needs to be introduced for the benefit of average students.
