Port Blair, Mar 14: Due to ongoing temporary shortage of electricity supply due to breakdown of a gen-set of M/s Suryachakra and with a view to ensuing minimum power cuts during ongoing examination of students, the Lt. Governor has directed that all lights except bare minimum security lights should be de-energised in the compound of Raj Niwas. Similar steps may be taken in respect of all other official buildings. Further while lights at public parks be reduced by de-energising the alternate lights, street lighting may also be curtailed without compromising the overall safety of the public.
