Port Blair, Mar 13: An unidentified youth, who has been living in a local hotel since last two months, gave a scary time to all intelligence agencies operating in remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to reports the police department had called intelligence agencies like IB, CBI, RAW, Naval Intelligence, Army Intelligence and Andaman Nicobar Command’s Head quarter Intelligence to establish the identity of the un-identified youth, who has been living in these Islands in a suspicious manner since last two months.
On 9, March 2012 the person was arrested by A & N Police from a local hotel, when he refused to pay the room rent for last two months and created trouble with the hotel owner.
During interrogation the person refused to cooperate with the police and did not reveal any information about his identity however a thorough check of his belongings revealed that his name is U. Ahalayan, 29 years.
But his PAN card had an address of Bangalore while Driving License had the address of New Delhi, which raised eye-brows of the Police Department and soon all intelligence units present in A &N Islands were alerted.
“We had to call all intelligence agencies for a joint interrogation first to establish the true identity of the person and secondly we thought the case was having little more potential,” SBS Tyagi, the Superintendent of Police of South Andaman told ‘Andaman Sheekha’ today.
On 10th March 2012 the Joint Interrogation were carried out by IB, CBI, RAW, Defence intelligence agencies to find out whether the person had links with terrorist organization but as per report through out the interrogation the person was behaving in a rude and arrogant manner.
During further interrogation it was established that U. Ahalayan is a resident of Bangalore and his father B U Pillai, is a Group Captain in Indian Air Force. Soon Group Captain Pillai was intimated about this case.
“According to his father U. Ahalayan had left home out of anger. We had produced U. Ahalayan, to the court of Sub Divisional Magistrate, from where he was released on bail. There is nothing serious in this case,” the SP added.
According to available report, U. Ahalayan left Port Blair on 12 March 2012, before his father could arrive at Port Blair to take him back to home.
However, it is still not clear why the youth had come to Andaman and Nicobar Islands and what was he doing here since last two months.
