Port Blair, Mar 13: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee in a letter addressed to Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister for Environment & Forest has apprised the grievances, plight and suffering of more than 1400 employees & workers of Andaman Nicobar Island Forest Plantation Development Corporation Ltd. (ANIFPDC Ltd.) who are facing deprivation and extinction due change in policy as regard to forestry in these Islands.
In his letter, Mr. Sharma has requested the Minister to accord early sanction of the ministry to the proposal submitted by the A & N Administration as regard to extending the pay and other benefits of the Central Sixth Pay Commission as well as to the schemes suggested by the Administration to rejuvenate and augment the activities of the Corporation to make it self sustainable and commercially viable organization.
