Port Blair, Mar 12: Few elephants of Forest Department have caused damages to Banana Plantation at Caddle Gunj area, last week. According to reports available here this is not the first time, when elephants of Forest Department have strayed inside plantation areas of Islanders and caused damaged. “Last year after similar incident in Caddle Gunj area when we lodged a complaint, we received a compensation of Rs. 150 only. This is a mockery. The Forest Department must ensure that none of its Elephant should enter inside private land,” said an angry Banana Plantation owner.
