Port Blair, Mar 06: The President of A & N State BJP unit Mr. R Mohan alongwith M Joga Rao, UP Pradhan, Smt Namita Mishtri, Pramukh,Smti Nalayani, Member- Hut Bay Panchayat Samity and CH Babu, City President of BJP met the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, Mr. Shakti Sinha today and appraised him with the grievances of the people of Little Andaman.
The delegates informed the Chief Secretary that due to bad roads in and around the Tsunami Permanent Shelter area of Farm Tikrey and Ongi Tikrey the STS department is not willing to operate buses.
The delegation also requested immediate repair of the Little Andaman Trunk Road (LATR).
Apart from this, the delegates also requested for immediate allotment of vacant permanent shelters to deserving and left out Tsunami victims, declaringHutBayas a tourist spot, improvement in Medical and ferry service facilities, enhancement of the wages of the DRMs of the ANIFPDCL and sanctioning of additional fund under special Tsunami Relief package etc.
According to the press release, the Chief Secretary assured that very soon the Administration is procuring some boats and after that the ferry services between Port Blair andHutBayIslands, will be improved. The Chief Secretary also reportedly assured to look into other issues and informed that delegation that in April,2012, he will pay a visit toHutBayIslands.
