Port Blair, Aug 26: As the 2014 Lok Sabbha elections are nearing, political parities are focusing more on finalizing their strategies and candidates for crucial LS seat of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to reports available here the Trinamool Congress is now planning to declare the name of Anita Mondal, daughter of former Member of Parliament, Mr. Manoranjan Bhakta as TMC’s next candidate for Andaman and Nicobar Lok Sabha Constituency. However, according to sources the decision has not been finalized yet.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that a few TMC members from Andaman and Nicobar unit are presently camping at Kolkata to finalize the name of candidate for next LS Elections.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Saha, TMC worker and Pradhan of Randhangar GP, Diglipur, who is at Kolkata now and arriving Port Blair tomorrow told that he had proposed the name of Mukul Roy (TMC, West Bengal) for the seat but senior TMC leader, Mr. Mukul Roy has proposed the name of Mrs. Anita Mondal sidelining all the contenders like Mr. Sharad Bepari, incharge of TMC .
“We believe that by tomorrow evening the name for TMC’s next LS candidate for A & N Islands and also the President of TMC A& N Islands, will be finalized,” Mr. Sharat Ch.Bepari, Block President of Diglipur TMC told Andaman Sheekha today.
