Port Blair, Aug 25: PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded for immediate financial compensation and a regular job to the next kith and kin of Mr. Nabin Sikdar who was killed by an elephant when he was on duty on 23rd August, 2013.
Mr. Nabin Sikdar, aged about 54 years, a regular Mazdoor under Forest Department was killed by the elephant of Forest Department while on duty on 23rd August, 2013 at Bornial, under Bokultala Gram Panchayat. The Mahaut of the Elephant wasalso injured by the same elephant ,who is now under treatment at CHC Rangat. On hearing the tragic incedent, the PCC Chief Kuldeep immediately rushed to the Rangat medical where the body of the deceased was kept in mortuary and the mahaut was admitted for immediate treatment. Nabin has left behind him his wife, two sons and 1 daughter and as per the information both the sons are unemployed.
Taking concern of the future of the family members of the deceased Nabin, Kuldeep has thus demanded for immediate financial compensation to the family of Nabin and proper medical treatment and rest etc to the injured Mahout from the Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
Kuldeep has also demanded for a regular job to the next kith and kin of Nabin so that the family can survive.
