Port Blair, Aug 22: The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, will be on three-day visit to Campbell Bay and Nancowry group of islands from August 23 to 25, 2013.
The programme of the Lt Governor during his stay at Campbell Bay includes visit to Indira Point and paying respect to Smt Indira Gandhi statue, distribution of Tsunami compensation to land owners of submerged land at APWD Guest House, interaction with general public of Campbell Bay, public grievance redressal, interaction with PRI Members and Ex-servicemen and field visit upto Shastri Nagar on August 23, 2013. The Lt Governor will also visit UNESCO recognised Great Nicobar Biosphere reserve on August 24, 2013 before leaving for Kamorta.
On arrival at Kamorta on August 24, 2013, the during his field visit from Kamorta upto Pilpilow village, will launch MGNREGA work at Kakana village. The other programmes during his stay at Kamorta includes interaction with tribal leaders, general public alongwith Head of Offices, inauguration of Cold Storage near Kamorta wharf and visit to Champin village.
Katchal, Teressa and Chowra are the islands the Lt Governor will be visiting on August 25, 2013 where the programmes includes interaction with tribal leaders and general public.
On completion of visit, the Lt Governor will return to Port Blair in the afternoon on August 25, 2013.
