Port Blair, July 24: Capt. Ashim Bhattacharjee park at Junglighat was constructed in the memory of Capt. Ashim Bhattacharjee who sacrificed his life for the mother land while fighting the insurgents in J&K. The park was completely destroyed by the devastating Tsunami during 2004.
Port Blair Municipal Council reconstructed the park and the same is ready for use by the general public. The Park will be inaugurated by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANCOFED Ltd., Port Blair on 25/7/2013 at 5.00 p.m. in the presence of Mr. P.B. Murugan, Chairperson, PBMC and Mr. I.P. Singh Jr. Vice Chairperson & Ward Councillor, Port Blair Municipal Council. The general public are requested to kindly attend the inaugural function in large. A communication from PBMC said.
