Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 18:The Directorate of Shipping Services conducted Earthquake Mock Drill at DSS main Administrative Building premises today. The drill was conducted under the supervision of the Nodal Officer Disaster Management, DSS and saw active participation from all employees of DSS main Administrative Building, Information Centre and STARS Ticketing Counter alongwith Disaster Management Team of this Directorate.
As part of the exercise, a total of 129 personnel evacuated to the designated shelter point. The mock scenario also included the rescue of one simulated injured person, who were promptly given First Aid and evacuated by the response team.
The entire exercise was carried out in a coordinated manner, demonstrating efficient response protocols and inter-agency cooperation under the overall supervision of Deputy Director (i/c), DSS. Once the situation was declared normalized, all personnel returned safely to their respective workstations.
