
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 13: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Pahargaon successfully organized “Adamya – Techno Sports 2026” on 13 March 2026 at the Dollygunj Mini Stadium with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the youth of the institute.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Mr. Karma Toppo, a renowned name in kayaking and a coach in SAI, while Ms. Sandhya Kispota, another eminent sportsperson from the islands, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The sports day began early in the morning with the Inaugural Torch ceremony at 6:30 AM, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 7:30 AM, where the sports meet was formally declared open. Various track and field events were conducted throughout the day with active participation from students across different departments.
Major events included 200 m sprint for boys and girls, 100 m sprint, 400 m and 800 m races, 4×100 relay races, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw competitions, showcasing the athletic talent and competitive spirit of the participants.
Special attractions of the event included the 100 m race for male and female staff members, a slow bike race for students, and an exciting tug-of-war competition between students and staff, which added enthusiasm and entertainment to the programme.
The sports activities were coordinated by a dedicated team of event managers and faculty members, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competitions. Prizes were distributed to the winners during the programme to recognize their outstanding performances.
The programme concluded with the formal declaration of the closing of Techno Sports 2026, followed by refreshments and lunch for the participants and organizing teams. The successful conduct of the event was made possible with the immense support and encouragement of Prof. Sanmukh Kaur, Principal, DBRAIT.
