Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 12: On the occasion of the International Wheelchair Day of Persons with Disabilities, the District Project Office, Car Nicobar organized a Wheelchair based activities and Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) to enhance confidence and remove social barriers.
The programme begins with inspirational words of Mr. Swapan Paik District Project Officer, Samagra Shiksha, Nicobar District followed by the Special Guest Mrs. Sarah in charge GSS Tamaloo was very motivating. A total 12 students participated in the programme, which includes awareness on the significance of wheelchair use through Orientation Session: Safe sitting demonstration, how to move a wheelchair with safety and fun activity to promote effective use of wheelchair. Assessment camp of Cerebral Palsy and Locomotor Disability was successfully conducted.
The active participation of parents and students actively participated and extended their wholehearted support.
