Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 04: On 04.01.2026, the 9th Edition of the Dr. B. Srikanth Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament concluded successfully. The tournament, which commenced on 07.11.2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 24 teams, including teams from various local departments, reflecting strong community involvement and inter-departmental camaraderie.
After a series of competitive matches played in the true spirit of sportsmanship, Mus Sporting Club and Small Lapathy Sporting Club emerged as the finalists. The final match toss was conducted by Mr. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, in the august presence of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, along with other distinguished dignitaries from the Islands.
The entire tournament was conducted with grace, discipline, and mutual respect, thereby strengthening police–public relations and promoting unity through sports. The final match proved to be a thrilling, closely contested encounter, with both teams displaying exceptional skill, teamwork and sportsman like conduct. Ultimately, Small Lapathy Sporting Club emerged victorious, winning the final match amidst loud applause and appreciation from spectators.
This marks the conclusion of yet another memorable chapter in the journey of the prestigious Dr. B. Srikanth Memorial Rolling Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament. As the 9th edition draws to a close, players and spectators alike paid heartfelt tribute to Late Dr. B. Srikanth, IPS, in whose memory the tournament is dedicated. During his tenure as Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, Dr. B. Srikanth exemplified dedication, compassion and an unwavering commitment to public service. His untimely demise on 10th April 2013 was a profound loss to the district and to the policing fraternity.
This tournament, the Nicobar community continues to honor his legacy, carrying forward his vision of service, unity, and mutual respect.
