Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 02: On 02nd Feb, the 4th Kishan Mela at Harinagar (Billiground)was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Krishna Chaitaniya, ADM & Assistant Commissioner, HQ, North and Middle Andaman District. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Guests of Honor, including Mr. Manjit Singh Bhora, Ranger, and Mr. Kalidas Biswas, AE, Electricity, along with renowned farmer, Mr. Ashok Sarkar.
The inauguration commenced with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by the lighting of a lamp, symbolizing the beginning of this significant event dedicated to the agricultural community.
Following the opening ceremony, the Chief Guest and Guests of Honor took an opportunity to inspect all the government stalls set up at the Mela, showcasing various agricultural innovations and resources available to the farming community. In recognition of exceptional dedication and hard work, the Kishan Mela Committee presented Kishan Mela Badges to several esteemed farmers of the region, acknowledging their contributions to agriculture and community development.
During his address to the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Krishna Chaitaniya shared heartfelt blessings and encouraging words, inspiring the attendees to continue striving for excellence in their farming endeavors. As a highlight of the day, various cultural events were organized and performed by school students from surrounding areas, adding color and vibrancy to the Mela, and fostering a sense of community spirit.
