Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 01: A State-Level Training Programme on “Procurement Norms, Budgeting, Accounting and Legal Provisions of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs)” was successfully conducted on 31st Jan with the objective of strengthening the financial and legal understanding of PRIs and ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance in rural local governance.
The technical session was delivered by Mrs. K. Chinthamani, Finance Officer, APWD, who elaborated in detail on procurement norms, applicable financial rules, budgeting processes, and accounting procedures for PRIs. She also highlighted key legal provisions, common challenges faced by Panchayats, and best practices to ensure financial discipline, transparency, and statutory compliance.
Earlier, the training programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Bijoy Kr. Das, Extension Officer, SNO (RGSA).
The programme was interactive and informative, enabling participants to gain practical insights into financial management and legal responsibilities essential for the efficient and accountable functioning of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. C. Vijiya, Domain Expert (WE).
