Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 29: On the basis of credible information, a joint search operation was conducted on 29.01.2026 by Manglutan Range and Garacharma Range at the house and premises of Mr. Mandakalai, R/o Indranagar, South Andaman.
The operation was carried out in the presence of Range officer Manglutan, Range officer Garacharma, Police personnel, departmental staff and PRIs. During the search operation, the team detected and seized 1.195 cum of hand sawn timber, 23 Nos of various semi-finished Padauk timber, 10 nos of different furniture items and 3 Nos. Machinery items from the spot.
All the seized items were handed over to CO, Manglutan Range for safe custody. A case has been registered against Mr. Mandakalai, R/o Indranagar, South Andaman under relevant provisions of Indian Forest Act, 1927.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Amalendu Mandal, Forest Ranger, Range Officer, Manglutan Range.
