Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 29: The Lt. Governor Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) & Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, on 29th January 2026, flagged off 36 non-gear Scooters for lady Police personnel in the presence of Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary Andaman and Nicobar Administration and Sh. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands, along with other senior officers of Andaman & Nicobar Administration and Andaman & Nicobar Police.
The scooters have been inducted to enhance the mobility of female Police personnel and strengthen beat patrolling across all Police Stations, with a focus on improving women’s safety, Police visibility and community confidence.
The vehicles, Hero Pleasure+ LX Scooters were procured from M/s Hero MotoCorp under the Annual Action Plan, with approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2025.
The initiative reflects the Andaman & Nicobar Police’s continued commitment to women empowerment, crime prevention and community-oriented policing.
