On the occasion of the 16th National Voters’ Day – 2026, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all the electors of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The theme for this year, ‘My India, My Vote’, with the tagline ‘Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy’, highlights the Election Commission of India’s commitment to a citizen-centric electoral process. It emphasizes voter convenience, inclusivity, and active participation as essential pillars of a sustainable democracy.
National Voters’ Day reminds us of the crucial role that every voter plays in strengthening the foundations of our democracy. The right to vote is not only a constitutional privilege but also a solemn responsibility that enables citizens to participate meaningfully in governance while upholding the values of justice, equality, and inclusiveness.
I urge all eligible citizens of these Islands, especially young voters who have attained the age of 18 years, to register themselves as electors. I further call upon all electors to exercise their franchise responsibly whenever the opportunity arises.
The Election Commission of India is undertaking the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with 01.01.2026 as the qualifying date in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This initiative aims to ensure complete inclusion of eligible electors, maximum participation, and transparency throughout the electoral process.
The right to vote is the cornerstone of democracy, where every vote contributes to shaping our collective future. On this occasion, let us reaffirm our commitment to democratic ideals and work together for a stronger, vibrant, and participative democracy.
I once again extend my warm greetings to all on this significant day.
Jai Hind!
